There are different causes of loose teeth: the leading cause not only for tooth mobility but also for loss of teeth is gum disease. A localized infection or an abscess can also make a tooth loose.
Traumas if a tooth is knocked, bite alignment problems cause overloads on a particular tooth & make it loose, and bruxism (grinding or clinching issues) similarly caused by excessive forces applied on teeth.
